What Are You Up To In December?

Hi,

While we let our fully realized / completed new album hibernate until her slated late spring 2016 release (!), we have some outings planned … to gather and let the new songs breathe. I will be playing a handful of solo shows for the first time in years&years.

These are the cities, December is the moment, full details below :

MINNEAPOLIS, MN / TORONTO, ON

Until so soon,
Daniela + Snowblink

OUECHA: PURVIEW CLOSING RECEPTION / DECEMBER 4 / MINNEAPOLIS, MN

Supremely delighted to be playing the closing reception for the luminous Frank Lyon & Christina Marie-Karr Lyon duo show in Minneapolis. In their words:

“Highly visual, always sensual, relatively artistic, prematurely ephemeral, wholeheartedly varied, decidedly philosophical; “PURVIEW” is OUECHA’s inaugural effort to consolidate its diverse output and inspirations into a *show*. Therein you will find moon meditations, rocks for photography, conceptual turtlenecks, interpretive valentines, unisex clothing, local medicines, mysterious jewelry, elevated buttons, therapeutic mixed-media, confetti dresses, balearic music, rare smells, inspirational posters, and a little bit more.
“PURVIEW” is their collection of anything; it’s definitely a collage.”

I plan to garnish that with perfect lighting, slow dances, sustained eye contact, and perhaps fruit, hand-fed.

End of Endless Summer Shows 2 0 1 5

Hi,

A few opportunities / occasions to gather while it’s still blazing out.

SACKVILLE, NB / TORONTO, ON  / LOS ANGELES, CA

See you and your tan soon,

Daniela + Snowblink

THE WATER THIEF FOR SAPPYFEST TEN / JULY 31-AUGUST 2 / SACKVILLE, NB

WaterThief_Poster_SACKVILLE-2015

Last summer we music-directed and performed the music for The Water Thief, a film/dance/shadow/light lens into a slow, underwater, whale’s-eye view on solitude by Sean Frey and Amy Siegel. The cast and crew are reuniting beside the Bay of Fundy this year to re-stage the show at our favorite Canadian festival, alongside the largest tides in the world (160 billion tons of water flows in and out of the Bay of Fundy during one tide cycle — more than the combined flow of the world’s freshwater rivers). TICKETSSCHEDULE / FB EVENT

THE HOLY OAK / AUGUST 6 / TORONTO, ON

Though the Holy Oak is our favorite hang in Toronto, and host to many of the best nights of our lives thus far, we have never played a proper Snowblink show there. This lifestyle error will soon be remedied, hopefully in your company. We will be joined by Sandro Perri and Roth Bart Baron (Japan). 9PM FB EVENT

THE INSTITUTE FOR ART AND OLFACTION / AUGUST 29 / LOS ANGELES, CA

unnamed unnamed-1

Following the trail of my long-time crush on natural perfumery, I teamed up with Saskia at the IAO to plan an aromatic slow-dance for their housewarming party at their new location in Chinatown. Dance cheek to cheek, cedar to sage, slow and steady. No need to bring a dance partner, unless you’re feeling it. 8PM / FREE RSVP REQUIRED / Installation by Erik Benjamins / 932 Chung King Road
